Composer and conductor Joseph S DeBeasi has been praised for his blend of creative electronic sounds and traditional instrumentation. His use of melody and harmonic subtext embody the heart of his musical storytelling.
Joseph’s film scores include the original underscore for Clint Eastwood’s Oscar-nominated AMERICAN SNIPER, for which he won a BMI Film Music Award; the award-winning feature documentary KIDNAPPED FOR CHRIST; the feature comedy ELEVEN ELEVEN; and ALPHA, directed by Albert Hughes, the score for which was listed in the top ten best scores for 2018 by Film Music Magazine. In 2016, his score for JUDGES won Best Soundtrack at the Miami International Sci-fi Film Festival.
Recently, Joseph was a guest conductor for the concert “Generations of Honor, The Soundtrack of the American Soldier,” in which the US Army Field Concert Band and Choir performed “The American Sniper Suite.” Also released as an album, “The Soundtrack of the American Soldier” won a Grammy in 2021. In March and November of 2018, he was a guest conductor for “Sinfonia: Connecting Arts & the Community,” an evening of music honoring past and present military members, where he featured the world premiere of “The American Sniper Suite” and two pieces commissioned by Southeastern University: “One More Minute” and “A Thousand Faces.”
