Lara Fabian is a Belgian-Canadian pop singer/songwriter who has sold more then 12 million albums worldwide.
In 1991, Fabian’s French-language debut, Lara Fabian, was released in Canada and sold over 1 million copies in three years. Her consistent touring helped bolster her 1994 album Carpe Diem to similar success, paving the way for 1997’s Pure, which sold over 2 million copies in France and featured the anti-homophobia anthem “La Difference.”
She was signed by Sony Music, which released her self-titled English-language album in 2000. It was a huge success, reaching number one in the U.S.A. Her 5th album, Nue, documented her tumultuous time during the overwhelming success of her previous album.
In 2004, Fabian released her 2nd English record, A Wonderful Life. The album featured a collection of acoustic pop songs. A year later, Fabian released 9, her 5th French studio album. The cover album Toutes Les Femmes en Moi arrived in 2009, followed by the English equivalent Every Woman in Me.
3 years later, Fabian returned with her 11th studio album, Le Secret, featuring the marriage equality anthem “Deux Ils, Deux Elles”. The album Ma Vie Dans la Tienne, released in 2015 was certified Platinum in France.
In 2017, Fabian delivered her 13th studio album and 4th English-language release, Camouflage.
In 2017, Lara joined the Canadian edition of the TV franchise The Voice as coach, and returned for the 7th season in 2019. Also in 2019, Papillon released with international success and Lara offered fans a reissued version of the album titled Papillon(s) that included three new titles. This 14th studio album was warmly received by critics and accumulated over 10 millions streams worldwide.
Throughout 2019-2020 Lara embarked on her worldwide tour ’50 World Tour’ in celebration of her 50th birthday with some dates rescheduled into 2021 due to the pandemic.
In 2020, Lara imagined a creative way to keep writing, singing and making music and announced a special limited edition release Lockdown Sessions available to fans exclusively through larafabian.com.
The beginning of 2021 see Lara as role of director of the 6th season of Star Académie, a French reality television series featuring musical talent competing for winning title.
